32 members of the Harithakarma Sena, who are members of the Kutubam Sree family, were selected from 16 wards of Alathur Grama Panchayat and have been working since Kerala Piravi Day in November 2019. 10 sanitation workers are currently working at the solid waste treatment plant located at Kattussery Vaveli, which is owned by the Grama Panchayat . Alathur Grama Panchayat is currently working on a project called ' Sewage Treatment Plant'.   A material recovery facility center has been established. The waste collected from houses and shops is taken to the solid waste treatment plant operating at the foot of the Vidhimala in the Kattussery Waveli area owned by the gram panchayat, where it is segregated and the inorganic waste is handed over to a private agency. In addition, as a gram panchayat with a gradual increase in urbanization, following the constant demand of the business community, since 2020 , organic waste has been collected in special bins for a fixed fee and taken to the solid waste plant, deposited in 12 units of Thumboormoozhi and Windrow composting units, and organic fertilizer is produced , and the produced products are distributed to the needy at a rate of Rs . 8 per kg . The plastic waste collected by the Green Karma Sena is shed and distributed to the needy for tarring roads in the gram panchayat and nearby panchayats, which has helped in improving the quality of existing roads. For such activities of Harithakarma Sena, the solid waste treatment plant has plastic shedding machine , plastic baling press , organic shedding machine , Thumboormuzhi model waste treatment system , dry digester , and a tractor , a three-wheeler , and a four-wheeler to transport the waste to the plant on time , along with two drivers who are always working hard. To help Harithakarma Sena, 10 daily wage workers have been appointed in the solid waste plant , four permanent employees and 3 daily wage workers have been appointed for sweeping in the town areas in the morning.
