Budget Report 2026-27

According to Section 214 of the Panchayat Raj Act, 1994, it is one of the essential duties of the Gram Panchayat to prepare a budget every year and submit it for the approval of the Governing Body and obtain administrative permission.
In order to fulfill the duties vested in the local governments under the Third Schedule of the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994, the Kerala Government has implemented missions such as the Extreme Poverty Alleviation Project, Doorstep Service, Solid Waste Management Project, Green Kerala, Water, Public Education Protection Mission, Life Mission, Hunger Free Kerala, Subhiksha Kerala, and Nilavu as part of the 14th Five Year Plan. This year's budget is being presented at a time when the state is going through a severe economic crisis. The gram panchayat, which is spread over an area of 19.62 sq. km, represents the smallest land area. The resources available for the full development of this gram panchayat are very limited. However, by scientifically integrating the development policy approach and project amount of the three-tier local self-government institutions, other departments, elected members of the Legislative Assembly and members of Parliament, the development balance has been maintained by allocating funds to various sectors to make basic development and agricultural development at the village level a reality.
